JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Calculate the amount of Material required for new product design. Further suggest alternate products or product designs to help with development of new products and cost savings.
  • Create and draw geometric dimensions and tolerate for designed parts, per American society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards and support manufacturing team.
  • Utilize thermodynamics, heat, and mass transfer principles to improve the efficiency of systems.
  • Optimize design and flow path utilizing heat and mass transfer principles.
  • Establish processes and control parameters for projects.
  • Outline quality control processes including analyzing failures. Utilize principles involving friction, wear and tear, etc. Prepare flow charts for system performance and suggest improvements and resolutions to failures.
  • Build 3D models for new concepts, prepare 3D solid models, sheet metal models, plastic parts if any and build prototypes of parts, assemblies before finalizing the part dimensions using 3D printing, additive manufacturing, stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing, Solidworks- solid modeling computer aided design and computer-aided engineering application software, and other rapid prototyping concepts.
  • Perform mechanical testing on products to understand the product better, identify vulnerabilities and establish stronger quality control. Product analysis may include mechanical performance, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), photometric, finite element, and/or structural analysis.
  • Develop product designs and optimizations.
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operation, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimized costs and to prevent operational delays.
  • Complete supplier audits/quality evaluations to understand and improve product quality.
  • Present and explain engineering concepts/designs to current clients. potential clients and industry specialists.
